Our friendly and responsive office staff’s capabilities affords us the opportunity to provide a more personalized and dedicated service to each of our valuable customers.

U.S. Air Force Veteran-founded by William “Bill” Buehler in 1950, Columbus Service Supply was incorporated in 1955 and has been family-owned since 1961. Over the years Bill hired many hard-working and loyal people who have been the cornerstone of the company’s success.

Bill’s youngest daughter Melinda Frye began working at Columbus Service Supply in 1987 while raising her four children and took over ownership upon Bill’s unexpected passing in 2006.

Since then, Melinda has guided the company into the new millennium, successfully positioning CSS as a leading industrial distributor by expanding into additional contemporary industries, such as automotive and restaurant equipment manufacturing, and updating its product offering by adding both indexable and solid carbide cutting tools to our first-class lines.

Bill’s grandson, Jason R. Frye, became President of Columbus Service Supply in 2023. Jason is focused on keeping ahead of the rapidly evolving industry by representing new product lines and exploring new manufacturing techniques so we can better fulfill the needs of every project our customers bring to us. Jason’s current focus is expanding our services into the composite industry by offering an advanced lineup of multi-axis and custom router tooling.

Recently we have continued our forward momentum by modernizing the company with the addition of online ordering capabilities on our new & improved website, remodeling our headquarters, including important information technology upgrades, and improving internal operating procedures to streamline the order fulfillment process.

Our ultimate goal is to ensure the success of Columbus Service Supply, as well as the success of our customers and business partners, extends beyond the current generation.
